SIMON COMANDA

“This piece incorporates my passion for photography with sculpture. I went around campus taking pictures of any red object I could find. Whether it was a fire hydrant, a truck, a rusty pipe, or a Coca-Cola can, I captured a photo of it. I edited and printed the photos, then cut them into the triangular shape that can be seen covering the piece. These I layered onto the 3D printed shape of a fox using hot glue starting at bottom and continuing up. This process created a texture that hopefully evokes the fur of a fox. In the end, I am pleased with the final result. It is a piece that is unlike anything else I have made, but I enjoyed the process immensely.”
