Produced annually by the students of Anderson University, the Ivy Leaves Journal showcases a selection of creative works. We gather our student’s storytelling in mediums both visual and literary; narratives that reflect over a century of heritage as the University’s only student-read, student-led journal. These pages hold the stories of our artists, writers, designers, and innovators, their individual creative identities unified in the Ivy Leaves Journal, giving voice to who we are.

Ivy Leaves' purpose is rooted in the stewardship of these stories. Every spring, our design and literature teams cultivate this journal as a home for student work. Both teams are dedicated to representing the original voices of our students, working to create a place where raw creative expression and skillful craft meet.

The Literature Team

Our literature team undertakes the assemblage of student writings. Carefully reading submissions, this team selects compelling pieces for publication. The following process of proofreading, revising, and refining the works is a collaboration with the authors, working together to polish the pieces in a way that both preserves and enhances the writers’ intent. They also conduct and write interviews of selected creators whose work is featured in the journal, along with composing any additional written content in the journal or publication process.

The Design Team

Our design team addresses a variety of challenges, working tirelessly to create effective, elegant solutions for the print and presentation of Ivy Leaves. Some members of the design team create the layout for the journal, considering the connections and progressions between pieces, both visual and thematic, while also handling the printing process for Ivy Leaves. Others devote time to crafting our website, creating quality merchandise and promotional materials, reviewing visual art submissions and selecting works for the journal, or managing Ivy Leaves’ social media presence.
